WRF 1st Annual Rummage Sale

Posted on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 11:33PM by Registered CommenterWillie Ross Foundation | CommentsPost a Comment

The Willie Ross Foundation relies on funds through the state of California and Los Angeles county. These funds provide day program services for the individuals we serve. Since the inception of the WRF Day Program in 2003, we have received less than 5% increase in rate for all of our consumers. In a recent article, the LA Times reported a 37% increase in the cost of gasoline within the last four months. As you can imagine, with the rising cost of food, gas, rent, and everything else, we have found the state generated funds to be greatly lacking.

We are always searching for creative ways to appeal to the public to assist us with day-to-day program costs. Even the smallest measures add up to significant amounts. In this way, we hope you will join us at our First Annual Rummage Sale! We are accepting household goods, men's/women's clothes, baby items, and anything else that we can sell. We are asking that all items are clean, usable, and in good condition.

Please mark your calendars for, Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 9am to 12:00 noon or until everything sells! Come visit us at 14547 Gilmore St. Van Nuys, CA. We ask that you deliver your donations to the Gilmore address the week of June 16th. All proceeds will directly benefit our clients for their daily programs!

If you have any questions, please email June Shin at june@willieross.org
... or call us at (818) 786-7677.

And who knows, you may find a treasure or two!

Search Online and Benefit Us at the same time

Posted on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 05:00PM by Registered CommenterWillie Ross Foundation | CommentsPost a Comment

Willie Ross has recently joined GoodSearch.com. We get paid based on advertising revenue and items purchased. When you go to GoodSearch (you can even set it as your home page), simply select Willie Ross and start searching and working away!

For this to succeed, please ask your friends and family and them to help support us through GoodSearch. Something as simple as online search can benefit us tremendously.

We estimate that each search will raise $0.01 for the Willie Ross Foundation. The more people use GoodSearch, the more money will be directed towards your cause. The sky is the limit! While the searches and estimated search revenue is calculated in real time, the GoodShop shopping data is posted weekly. There may be a delay in the donation appearing in the results as our retailers can take up to eight weeks to report their sales back to us from the time of your purchase. Also, you may notice a change in the totals due to returned merchandise or cancelled orders.

Here's an example of how much our organization can earn:

Charity or School Size Number of Supporters Average Searches Per Day Estimated Revenue/Year from Search Amount Purchased Per Person/Year via GoodShop Average % of Sale Donated Estimated Revenue from Shopping Total Donation/Year
Small 100 2 $730 $500 3% $1,500 $2,230
Medium 1,000 2 $7,300 $500 3% $15,000 $22,300
Large 10,000 2 $73,000 $500 3% $150,000 $223,000

The data provided herein is estimated. For example, the revenue does not reflect certain adjustments which may be provided for in the terms of service (e.g. adjustments due to fraudulent searches, or returned or cancelled merchandise). As a result, we offer no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of this information. This information is to be used as a guide only.
